The Purpose Of Exercise
Most of us go about choosing our exercise the wrong way.
We base our decisions predominately on what’s the best for weight loss.I get questions all the time from people asking what exercise is “better.” And I always respond, “better for what?” Of course, I know what they’re getting at, so my response is more of an exercise in self-awareness. I want people to see that they’re choosing their exercise for all the wrong reasons.
How Transformation Happens
When it comes to exercise, transformation is the result of being fully engaged with the activities you’re doing, and being able to do them consistently and long enough to actually see the fruits of your labor. If you hate going to the gym and lifting weights, then it doesn’t matter if that form of strength training is amazing for weight loss and changing your body, because you’ll never enjoy it enough to stick with it for months and years to have that transformation happen. If you’re prone to injury, then doing HIIT sprints aren’t going to help your fat loss when you’re laid up on the couch due to straining a muscle. It doesn’t matter how great they are for your metabolism.
The Purpose of Exercise
The #1 goal of exercise is to enjoy moving your body because it makes you feel good. When it makes you feel good you will want to do it, and you will look forward to working out each and every time.Motivation stays high. Consistency stays high. Adherence stays high. This all adds up to transformation. But this is something you need to figure out for yourself...When you do figure it out you will totally get it! We need to stop focusing on the end result when we’re making our decisions. Getting engaged with the process is how transformation happens. If you were the only person in this world, what would you do for exercise? If you never lost another pound would you still do your exercise? Because one day you will be at your goal weight, and if your only driving force to exercise is your weight, you will no longer have the desire to exercise, as that sole piece of motivation will be gone.
How to Pick Your Exercise
Learning how to choose your exercise is one of the core Daily Focus Habits you learn about in HIT FIT LOCKDOWN CHALLENGE, our program that teaches you the mental and physical habits that lead to transformation. We layer in key habits one at a time until you’re eventually a changed person. And the best part is that these results stick around because you approached your weight loss the right way this time and focused on habit change.Enjoyment is always the main goal of exercise. Whether that means walking, biking, rock climbing, roller blading, basketball, weight lifting, gardening, or one of the other thousand different activities, you have to self-reflect on what makes you happy and do more of that.Enjoy exercise for the exercise itself – not for what it leads to. That side effect comes naturally. That’s how you stay motivated. That’s how you stick with exercise. That’s how you transform you mind, body, and life.We would love to help you make that happen.
When you join our HIT FIT LOCKDOWN that’s what you’re going to learn a whole new approach to weight loss. The program is based on universal behavioral change principles. And I surround that with additional resources that add to your success – a supportive community of people undergoing a similar journey, an accountability system that keeps you taking action, monthly coaching calls, and a coach that understands your struggles and how to persist through them so you too can have a breakthrough. So PLEASE do us a solid a favor and at least check out the enrollment page to see what the program is all about. We have seen too many lives change not to at least give you a little nudge.
